(*The week of July 5, programming will run from Tuesday, July 6 - Friday, July 9. Camp will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.)
Participants must currently be 3 years to 5 years old.
WEEK 1 Splash into Summer Monday, June 21-Thursday, June 24
Campers learn about their classroom sea animals (lobster, shark, stingray, seal, etc.), their habitats, and lifestyle. We will explore ocean life and water travel through fun water experiments and classroom activities. We will build our own boats and visit the pier to spot other water vehicles.
WEEK 2 Sports Bonanza Monday, June 28-Thursday, July 1
Each day, campers will learn and practice basic skills for a different sport: soccer, tennis, and baseball. We will end the week with a relay race at Riverside Park!
WEEK 3 Outer Space This week’s programming will run Tuesday, July 6-Friday, July 9 due to the July 5 holiday closure
Our young space cadets will learn about some of the wonders of the universe, including stars, planets, and space travel. We will attempt to launch our very own rockets and use the sun to “cook” a snack!WEEK 4 Animal Explorations Monday, July 12-Thursday, July 15
Children will spend the week learning about animal life, their habitats, and creating art inspired by their favorite animals. Campers will visit Riverside Park for a scavenger hunt in search of Riverside Park’s very own animal residents.
WEEK 5 Little Chefs Monday, July 19-Thursday, July 22
This week, campers will vote on a meal to prepare together. They will visit Jubilee Market Place to purchase their ingredients and work together to make their class meal. We will learn about where our ingredients come from and the importance of healthy eating.
WEEK 6 Around the World Monday, July 26-Thursday, July 29
Students will make their own passports and learn about different countries by using their five senses to experience music, art, food, and games from around the world.
Summer programming at Riverside is open to currently enrolled Preschool students in the Twos, Threes and Pre-K Classes. Our program balances children’s needs for creative outlets and physical activity. Students at Riverside Summer Camp enjoy hands-on, creative activities, both indoors and outdoors. Our teachers use the indoor gyms, classrooms, and Riverside Park to enhance play and instruction. All classes are led by one of our current preschool teachers. This year programming will run from Monday, June 21 - Thursday, July 29, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.
